Scorpion Tactics was established to bridge the gap between classroom instruction and the realities officers face on the street. Our training is built around practical application, sound decision-making, officer safety, legal standards, and the ability to clearly explain what was done and why.
We don't teach shortcuts or activity for entertainment. We prepare officers to recognize legally relevant behavior, evaluate information, making lawful and proportionate decisions, safely execute a plan, and clearly articulate their actions.
Meet the founder
Chris Chacon-Chang founded Scorpion Tactics after more than two decades of law-enforcement service, operational experience, supervision, and instruction.
His background includes patrol supervision, crime-suppression operations, 15 years as a K9 handler and supervisor, tactical planning, officer development, and academy instruction. He has served as a police sergeant since 2009 and has spent years preparing officers for leadership responsibilities. More than 80 officers he has coached have gone on to earn promotion to sergeant.
Scorpion Tactics was created to turn that experience into structured, practical training that helps officers perform more effectively today while preparing strong leaders for tomorrow.
